ACTS RETREATS

ACTS stands for Adoration, Community, Theology and Service. ACTS retreat weekends are presented by a team of men/women/teens from the parish with spiritual direction provided throughout the weekend. The goals of the retreats are to help strengthen the retreatant's faith, to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, to renew themselves spiritually, and to build lasting friendships. ALTAR SERVERS

A group of young boys and girls who assist the celebrant during the liturgical celebration. Please contact the parish office at 824-7231 for more information.
Altar Server Schedules: June 2010

ALTAR SOCIETY

This organization of the parish purchase and take care of the sacred vessels and all supplies necessary for liturgical celebrations. They are responsible for washing, ironing and repairing all altar linens, vestments, cassocks and surplices. All women of the parish are welcome to join. If you are interested in participating in this organization, please call Dee Arevalo at 824-2052 or Virginia Jendrush at 342-8166.

BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE

The Bereavement Committee provides a meal to parish families who have lost a family member. Please call Mrs. Norma Vorphal at 342-6514 if you would like join this parish organization.

BOY SCOUTS

Boys are taught love of God, love of country and are trained for service to both. Boy Scouts, ages 11-17 and Cub Scouts ages 7-10. Please contact Mr. Bob Eichorn at (210) 789-4189.

BROWNIES/GIRL SCOUTS

Girls are taught love of God, love of country, and are trained for service, cadets are 7th and 8th grade students. Juniors are 4th grade to 6th grade. Brownies are 1st to 3rd grade students. Please contact or Mrs. Laura Sasser, 494-5636, more information.

CANTORS

The Choir Director will be happy to work with anyone interested in becoming a cantor. Please contact Mary Jane Quintero after Mass.

CHOIR, 12:15 MASS

The 12:15 p.m. choir is looking for people of all ages to participate in this group. No formal training is required. Just a desired to praise God with song! Ronnie Stach and DeeDee Peralta, are the directors of this choir. You may meet with them after the 12:15 Mass.

CHOIR, LITURGICAL

The parish choir leads our community in song during our liturgical Mass celebrations. Practice is held once a week. Miss Mary Jane Quintero is Choir Director. Please see her after he 5:30 Mass on Saturday, or the 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday if you are interested in joining.

CYO

This program is for youth of all ages interested in playing soft- ball, baseball, soccer and basketball. Adult leadership is an absolute necessity for its success. Please call 824-3588 or check the parish bulletin for more information.

EDGE

The EDGE is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience for early adolescents in grades 7th & 8th (6th graders will not be turned away). The EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. Jr. High youth are always welcomed. More information...

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

FAITH FORMATION

Blessed Sacrament Church offers religious education for children from Preschool through the 8th grade. High school youth are part of the Life Teen Program. Our focus is both knowledge about our faith and development of personal spirituality for our young people. More information...

HOLY NAME SOCIETY

The main objective is to honor the sacred names of God and Lord and personal sanctification. Membership is open to all members of the Parish. Its main projects are to sponsor retreat programs, ushers and the scouting program for Blessed Sacrament Parish. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. LIFE TEEN

LIFE TEEN is an international Catholic ministry that serves the church and leads teens closer to Christ by providing resources and training that encourages vibrant Eucharistic celebrations and opportunities for teens to grow in their faith. The LIFE TEEN Mass will take place on Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. After Mass, Teens will be invited to participate in LIFE NIGHT where faith will be nurtured by Core Members and their Youth Minister. PARISH SEWING GROUP

This group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Hogan House at 119 Shannon Lee. They make vestments, altar cloths, baptismal and confirmation stoles. You do not have to know how to sew to belong to this group. Please call us at 824-7231 for more information on this group.

QUILTING GROUP

The quilting group meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. at the Hogan House at 119 Shannon Lee. You may contact Gloria Webb for more information at 349-4651.

R.C.I.A.

Blessed Sacrament Parish has a process for adults seeking information on baptism or full communion in the Catholic Church. Known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults This process respects the faith development of each individual while maintaining the ideas and visions of the Catholic community. ROSARY GROUP

Come and join us in praying the rosary every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Hogan House at 119 Shannon Lee.

SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER

Two homes are provided for senior activities. There are many activities to choose from. They have Meals on Wheels, arts and crafts, canasta, cards, games, dominos and a library. You can find days and time for the activities in the parish bulletin. The homes are located at 115 Shannon Lee and 119 Shannon Lee. For more information regarding these activities, you may contact Deacon J. D. Jorgensen at 824-7231. Also, see Very Special People (VSP) below.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

Society for parishioners who wish to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate in our community. They help people during difficult times with food, clothing and shelter. Please call the parish office at 824-7231 if you would like to become a member of this wonderful organization.

USHERS

Men and women who assist at the liturgy by helping parishioners find seats, collecting donations and directing people during distribution of communion and by handing out church bulletins.

VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE

Membership in the VSP is open to all registered parishioners 55+. Dues are only $7.00 per year. Meetings are held on he first Wednesday of each month. You may play cards, dominoes or just visit. A hot meal is served for just $1.00. If you are interested in joining, please call Joe Muniz at 826-3810, Gloria Calvert, 341-5327, Aida Brett at 342-6848 or Deacon J. D. Jorgensen at 824-3604.

VISITING MINISTERS

This group is comprised of about twenty very caring dedicated parishioners who assist our pastor in ministering to the sick, lonely and elderly who are either hospitalized or confined to the home and cannot attend Mass. Please call he Parish office at 824-7231 if you are interested in joining this group or if you have a need for this service.
