Life Teen is a Eucharist-centered approach to youth ministry that seeks to draw high school aged teens closer to Christ and the Church.

Life Teen starts with the celebration of the 5:00 p.m. Life Teen Mass each Sunday, a lively and energetic liturgy directed especially to teens. It continues after Mass with a Life Night. A Life Night is where the catechesis continues with dynamic and prayerful presentations by the Life Teen Core group. The teachings all have their basis in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Life Teen begins with the celebration of the Eucharist and ends with a challenge to live it. Life Night ends at 8:00 p.m.

 

Although Life Teen teaches the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, it is open to all high school students, regardless of religion. All high school teens are welcome, whether they attend catholic or public high schools and whether they have a history of religious formation or none at all.

 

 

 

 The Life Teen ministry has two main components:

1. The Life Teen Mass - every Sunday evening, year-round at 5:00pm. This liturgy, open to everyone in the parish, is designed to be especially welcoming and meaningful to high school teens. The LIFE Teen Band (consisting of keyboard, guitars, drums, etc.) leads us in prayer and worship through contemporary Christian music. The homilies deal with issues that are relevant to teen's lives. Teens also actively serve the community at Mass as greeters, ushers, altar servers, and Eucharistic Ministers.

2. The Life Night Program - following the Life Teen Mass on Sundays during the school year from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The Life Nights are the primary source of religious education for high school teens. These nights are designed to serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of our teens. Registration forms can be found in the Church office or at a Life Night. Despite this registration process, Teens are free to invite their friends to Mass and/or Life Nights.

If you feel God is calling you to help with our Life Teen program we'd love to have you! There are several ways you can help:

 

 1. Prayer - Please pray for our leaders of Life Teen - That they stay close to our God and open to His will in ministry as well as their daily lives so that they may live as disciples leading teens closer to Christ. Please pray as well for the teens who participate in the Life Teen program around the world - That they may be open to what God has to share with them through the ministry of Life Teen, and that they receive the grace and strength to live it.

 

2. Donation – There are many financial demands of the Life Teen program and we don’t always have the funds to do everything we’d like to. Your donation can go toward training for the Core Team of Life Teen; Supplies to run Life Nights; Retreats and conferences for high school students, and many more! 3. Volunteer – Life Teen is almost completely run by volunteers! People called to this ministry are vital to every aspect of Life Teen. We need help with everything from preparing food for Life Nights to chaperones for retreats and conferences to being on the Core Team that helps run Life Nights every week.
